A PERFORMATIVE DINNER WITH KVAE & BARK

Between dried crops, salted meat and pickles, the audience gathers around a burnt surface. Outside the windows, the smoke from the smokehouse creeps up towards the evening sky. On the table between them, the colours of summer and autumn surpluses await expectantly.

KVAE & BARK invites you to a performative dinner where the audience gets to know both the “bodenska” landscape, but also the eastern coniferous forests that make up the artists’ daily habitat. Through taste, smell and sound, the audience will help shape a social sculpture in KVAE & BARK’s installation “The veil between the nest and the forest”.

‘KVAE & BARK’s artistic practice is a melting pot: conceptual art and gastronomy, carpentry and traditional preservation techniques, a kind of DIY mentality and a phenomenologically rooted understanding of place, relational and ecological practices meet here. The artist duo can be said to represent a post-humanist school of thought, which questions the hegemony of man in the world and where the boundaries between man, animal, nature, technology, tools and objects are blurred.’ – Mikael Andersson and Erik Törnkvist

The evening also marks a transition: the exhibition will be rearranged the following day and reopen on 12 October.
