WELCOME TO THIS SUMMER’S CREATIVE ACTIVITIES AT HAVREMAGASINET! FOR SIX WEEKS FROM JUNE 26 TO AUGUST 3, WE WILL BE CREATING A MINIATURE MUSEUM WITH THE THEME OF HOME.

The workshop will be led by the artist-in-residence, Alva Höggren, along with Havremagasinet’s art educator Lotta Enström. It will be an exciting summer where we will work with various materials and techniques to create a collective miniature museum together.

What exactly is a home? Can a home be a feeling? Come to Havremagasinet and explore with us!

The activity is drop-in and intended for the whole family: a great opportunity to create together, across generations!

Price: Adults only pay for entry (50 SEK) and children and young people participate for free!

Period 1: Weeks 26-27, June 26 – July 6

Application and Embroidery

Inspired by the exhibitions and the theme of Home, during the first two weeks of the summer workshop we will work with food as one of the fundamentals of a home. All participants will make a textile collage, which will then be assembled into a quilt and displayed as the backdrop for the miniature museum.

Period 2: Weeks 28-29, July 10 – July 20

Miniature Sculpture

We continue the summer workshop by creating parts of a home in miniature format, which will then be placed in the miniature museum. Maybe you want to try recreating grandma’s old armchair? Or paint a road sign that can be placed just outside the museum? Let your home have a place, see you there!

Period 3: Weeks 30-31, July 24 – August 3

Fanzine

The last two weeks of the summer workshop at Havremagasinet are approaching, and of course, there will be a new technique to explore! We will work with the power of paper and words to create our own small art book or fanzine (magazine). Our inspiration will come from old folklore and legends that touch on the theme of home.
