langsom dvale mot nye stråler av liv

KVAE & BARK

12 okt 2024 – 12 jan 2025

Slow Hibernation Towards New Rays of Life is an exhibition by the artist duo KVAE & BARK, consisting of Karoline Sætre (b. 1992) and Øyvind Novak Jenssen (b. 1988).

KVAE & BARK’s artistic practice is a melting pot: conceptual art and gastronomy, carpentry and traditional preservation techniques, a kind of DIY mentality and a phenomenologically rooted understanding of place, relational and ecological practices meet here. The artist duo can be said to represent a post-humanist school of thought, which questions the hegemony of humans in the world and where the boundaries between humans, animals, nature, technology, tools and objects are blurred. Donna Haraway, an American thinker usually associated with posthumanism, has popularised the concept of situated knowledge. This means, among other things, that the specific and concrete nature of each unique situation is emphasised, instead of universal explanatory models and abstract concepts. It is precisely the situational that characterises KVAE & BARK’s work, regardless of the place they activate. – Mikael Andersson and Erik Törnkvist

The exhibition is shown on the second floor and is a transition from KVAE & BARK’s The Veil between the Nest and the Forest in the previous exhibition Hemmets Fundament.

Curated by Erik Törnkvist and Mikael Andersson.

More information about the exhibition will be available soon.
