Havremagasinet is proud to present an exhibition showcasing the work of one of Bodenskolan’s most talented members, John Thorgren. Thorgren is mainly known for his big scale landscapes, but in this exhibition the viewer gets a rare opportunity to see his portraits.

For Thorgren, color moments drive his artistic vision. He explains, “I always want to work with different colors on different days. Suddenly I can feel red, blue, yellow or something else. It’s hard to explain, but I can feel it in my body”. Thorgren begins with minor stains of color on the canvas, expanding upon them until a coherent image emerges. This process is a hallmark of Thorgren’s artistic style, where color drives every stroke.

Visitors to this exhibition will have the opportunity to view Thorgren’s portrait paintings, which capture the essence of his subjects in a beautiful and thought-provoking way. Thorgren’s work is a testament to the power of color and its ability to inspire and engage viewers meaningfully.

More information can be found in the Folder (available only in Swedish).
