Olof Marsja

In this duo exhibition, Norrbotten artists Erling Johansson (b 1932) and Olof Marsja (b 1986) come together and share an ample and varied selection of works. Although of different generations, both artists have their roots in the municipality of Gällivare. Their cultural and linguistic kinship resonates in their art, highlighting the region’s cultural complexity.

about the artist

Olof Marsja was born in 1986 in Gällivare and lives and works in Gothenburg. He studied at Konstfack in Stockholm. In 2019, he was one of the Maria Bonnier Dahlin Foundation’s scholarship recipients. Olof Marsja is represented in the Kunstnärsnämnden art collection and in the Maria Bonnier Dahlin Foundation’s collection. He has recently participated in exhibitions at Bonniers Konsthall, Stockholm, Galleri Steinsland-Berliner, Berlin, Galleri Box, Gothenburg and Stenungsund Konsthall, Stenungsund.
