ART HANGOUT FOR ADULTS

One Thursday evening each month, Havremagasinet opens up Café Pampas for adults (18+) to create, relax, and meet like-minded people after work or studies.

We meet once a month, and each session features either a guided activity inspired by the current exhibition or a guest artist who provides simple creative instructions based on their artistic practice.

The café and Havrebaren offer dinner, drinks, and snacks starting at 5:00 PM. Sketch & Sip kicks off at 6:00 PM and runs until 8:00 PM.

March 26, 6–8 PM – Mimmie Strandkvist

On Thursday, March 26, we are joined by the artist Mimmie Strandkvist. Born in 1990 and based in Boden, Mimmie primarily works with oil painting. Her art stems from an interest in the human psyche and moves between humor and seriousness. She draws inspiration from small everyday details—such as fabric, shadows, the shifting tones of skin, and glossy surfaces—but also from emotions, body language, and human behavior. In a time when perfection is often emphasized, she is more interested in exploring what feels slightly off or uncomfortable.

During the evening, Mimmie will talk about her artistic practice and then invite participants to try creating something of their own. Inspired by her way of working, you will have the chance to paint something ordinary—but add an unexpected twist. We will be using water-based oil paints, all materials are provided free of charge, and no prior experience is required!
