On February 6, 2026, Havremagasinet opens its new textile studio WARP & THREAD, with artist Ida Isak Westerberg as facilitator.

The idea is for the studio to become an inspiring meeting place where weaving and other textile projects can take shape. The space will include six large looms, each with a specific purpose:

Three loomsTwo-week booking sessions, for beginners and experienced weavers
One loom – Guestbook, open for all visitors that come to Havremagasinet and wants to try weaving

Before projects and bookings begin, Ida Isak will lead a beginner’s course on how to set up a loom – guiding participants through every step required.

Ida Isak Westerberg (b. 1986, Sunderbyn) holds a degree in advanced textile crafts from Handarbetets Vänner and works as a textile artist based in Luleå and Övertorneå.

Westerberg’s practice is rooted in site-specific processes, where each work takes form through a dynamic interplay between materials and their response to particular environments. In close collaboration with nature — with the Sompasenvuorna mire in Tornedalen as a recurring co-creator — Westerberg’s sculptural weavings carry tactile traces of history, while also exploring themes of belonging, shifting desires, and queer identities.

In the summer of 2025, Westerberg participated with several works in the major exhibition FRAMTIDSLANDET I 15 & 1/2 KAPITEL.
